GENERAL INFORMATION

Aia has two car park in the centre. There is generally no trouble parking.

The port area of Getaria is a parking area for visiting Getaria. Access is easy:

• From Zarautz: Before entering the village of Getaria, the descent to the port and the beach area on the right-hand side allows you to cross the entire port. The entry of caravans and vehicles taller than 1.90m is prohibited. Vertical sign.
• From Zumaia: Before entering the village, on the left hand side is the turn-off to the port of Getaria. Buses, caravans and vehicles taller than 1.90m are prohibited from the vertical sign onwards. At this entrance there is a caravan parking area for 10 vehicles, which can be parked without crossing the blue line so as not to obstruct traffic.

The blue and residents’ zone in Getaria is active from June to September (both included).

Blue Stripes

Area with time restrictions. You can pay both at the machine and in the ElParking application, and you can park all day long (10:00-20:00), 12€

Zones with white stripes without any type of sign or letter: Free parking zones all year round.

Blue and white stripes – High turnover car park

In these high rotation zones, parking is allowed for a maximum of 40 minutes and they are active all year round. Once the timetable is over, only authorised vehicles (residents) may park during the summer period and during the rest of the year outside the timetable it is free.

Buses and caravans

• Caravans have an assigned parking space on Gaztetape beach, and cannot park outside this area. Maximum length 5m.
• Buses are not allowed to access the port, so they can load and unload passengers at the regular bus stop as long as it does not coincide with the regular bus (see timetables here) and park in the industrial area of San Prudencio (see map).

From June to September there is OTA at the beach and in the car park adjacent to the football field. Parking is free for one hour in the blue lines located in the centre of town, requiring a parking sign that can be acquired from the establishments in the town. The sign determines how many hours a car can be parked. Timetable:

From Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 13:00 and 16:00 – 20:00
Saturdays: 08:00 – 13:00. Outside these times parking is free of charge.

PAYMENT ZONES:

1.- Blue lines:
-Winter (only in zone 1) from Monday to Friday: 9.00 – 20:00 Saturdays: 9:00 – 13:00
-Summer (all parking areas) every day: 9:00 – 20:00

3.- Reduced rate parkings (only in summer).

– Every day: 9:00 – 20:00 (Kortazar, Mitxelena and Itsas Mendi parkings and Herrikosaro street.

PARKING FOR RESIDENTS:
White lines every day, for 24 hours all year round.

Parking in the vicinity is free. The OTA service is only activated in summer (15-06/15-09) in the historic quarter and in the zones marked for residents.
